Routed Operators

What is this job really like?
Kitsap Transit's peak ridership is during commute hours. As a result, split shifts are a part of the job and can vary daily, especially for new operators. Routed Operations runs from approximately 3:30am – 10:30pm.

“I work from 4:25 AM to 8:20 AM, then 1:30 PM to 7:15 PM. I still get home before 8 PM, and I have at least 9 hours in between shifts to do whatever I want. It’s so easy. It’s not hard. If you love to drive, this job is for you.”

Pay
- Starting Wage: $24.11/hour for Routed operators, with annual increases
- Wage at Sixth Year: $33.69/hour for Routed operators
- Non-cumulative Longevity Bonus: 2% after 15 consecutive years, 4% for 20 years and 8% for 25+ years.
On-the-job Benefits
Commercial Driver’s License training provided.
Once you complete training and are assigned to a board with a minimum guarantee of 30 hours per week of work, you will be eligible for medical, dental, life insurance, and more.
Community Recognition
The Kitsap Transit Board recognizes a Routed Driver every month and these operators are eligible to be named Routed Driver of the Year. Every operator awarded this distinction is recognized at the Board's public meetings, has their photo taken, and receives a framed certificate and gift card to celebrate this accomplishment.

ACCESS Operators
Part-Time and Full-Time Options Available
What is this job really like?
ACCESS Operators are connecting community members to appointments, shopping, and various other activities that these passengers could not otherwise attend without our help. ACCESS Operations run from approximately 6:00am – 8:00pm and shifts can vary from day to day.

Pay
- Starting Wage: $22.52/hour for ACCESS operators, with annual increases
- Wage at Sixth Year: $32.21/hour for ACCESS operators
- Non-cumulative Longevity Bonus: 2% after 15 consecutive years, 4% for 20 years and 8% for 25+ years.
