Ferry Maintenance Facility Siting Study Released

This June, Kitsap Transit released its Ferry Maintenance Facility Siting Study, moving the agency one step closer to building a much-needed maintenance facility for our ferry fleet.

A Kitsap Transit-owned facility will allow us to make timely repairs to vessels, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable ferry service.

The siting study evaluated potential facility locations and identified the preferred alternative selected by the Kitsap Transit Board on May 7. The next steps will include an environmental review process and preliminary design of the facility.
