Routes 8, 9 and 81 – Detours
Construction at Mitchell and Lincoln

Effective through Sept. 2024

Starting on Monday, July 8, the intersection of Mitchell Road and Lincoln Avenue will be closed for a roundabout construction project. During this project, Kitsap Transit will detour Routes 8–Bethel, 9–East Port Orchard and 81–Annapolis Commuter. Construction is expected to last through Sept. 2.  
  
Route 8 will not travel Mitchell Road or a small section of Bay Street between Mitchell Road and Bethel Avenue. During the project, Route 8 will travel Bay Street, Bethel Avenue and Bethel Road back to its normal route.

Route 9 will not travel Mitchell Road south of Jefferson Avenue or Lincoln Road between Mitchell Road and Hoover Avenue. Route 9 will travel Jefferson Avenue and Hoover Avenue back to its normal route.

Route 81 will detour three AM trips, which depart Jackson Avenue and Mile Hill Drive at 5:15 AM, 5:45 AM and 6:15 AM. These select bus trips will not travel Mitchell Road south of Jefferson Avenue or Lincoln Road between Mitchell Road and Hoover Avenue. The bus will travel Jefferson Avenue and Hoover Avenue back to its normal route.

All bus stops along Mitchell Road will be closed to Route 8. Four bus stops on Mitchell Avenue between Lincoln Road and Jefferson Avenue will be closed to Routes 9 and 81. Two stops along Lincoln Road will be closed. Three temporary stops will be added along Bethel Road for Route 8 and two temporary bus stops will be added to Jefferson Avenue near the intersection of Beck Street.
