Kitsap Transit now offers a NEW way to get Rider Alerts.

Sign up for alerts to receive real-time updates directly to your phone!

We will start issuing alerts through SimplifyTransit starting on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. We will no longer issue alerts through GovDelivery after March 4.

Customize your preferences to receive text message or email alerts for the services, times, and stops you use. You can also choose to receive notifications in Spanish or Tagalog.

Kitsap Transit Ferry Riders: Please select both directions on your route. For example, if you want to receive round-trip alerts for the Bremerton Fast Ferry, sign up for the both the "Bremerton-Seattle Fast Ferry" and the "Seattle-Bremerton Fast Ferry" lists.

Subscribe to topic lists to receive Kitsap Transit’s Headways newsletter, information about specific projects, or public meeting notices. These topics are listed under "Other Topics."

ACCESS Riders: To receive ACCESS alerts, sign up for the "ACCESS Program Alerts" under the "Other Topics" section.

You can edit or pause your subscription from this page anytime without logging in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I get alerts for my trip?
A: Sign up for alerts using the form above! When you subscribe to alerts, you will receive text or email alerts for your selected routes, bus stops, and the days and times you ride. Kitsap Transit recommends customizing these preferences to receive alerts for the specific stops and times relevant to you. Riders who do not sign up for stop-level alerts will not be notified when a bus stop is closed or the route is on a detour.  If the status of an existing alert changes for one of your routes, you'll get an update with the latest information. To view alerts on our website, visit kitsaptransit.com/alerts.

Q: What type of alerts will I receive?
A: Kitsap Transit will issue alerts when service is impacted. Some examples include:

  • Bus or ferry trip delays
  • Bus detours or reroutes
  • Trip cancellations or schedule changes
  • Closed or moved stops

Q: Can I get alerts for multiple routes, ferries and stops?
A: Yes! You can set up multiple subscriptions for different routes, stops, days of the week, and times of day. You can easily change your subscription if your commute patterns change. We recommend creating subscriptions based on how you ride. To change your preferences, click the gear icon in the upper right corner of your subscription.

  • Select Edit
  • Add or remove routes
  • Add or remove stops
  • Select or deselect days and times
  • Click Save Subscription

Q: How do I stop receiving alerts?
A:  You can delete a subscription by clicking the gear icon and selecting “Delete.” Alternatively, you can pause a subscription by clicking the toggle in the lower right corner of your subscription to change it from Active to Paused

To stop getting alerts for a specific route or stop, click the gear icon, click edit, unselect that subscription's Route and bus stops, and save your preferences.

Q: How do I get information about Kitsap Transit news, projects and public meetings?
A: On the Manage Subscriptions screen, click Other Topics, select which lists you’d like to sign up for and click Save

Q: Can I add my email and phone number to the same subscription?
A: If you signed up with your phone, you can add your email address and vice versa.
