Driver Eligibility
Public Rideshare Driver Eligibility/Retention Criteria
Prospective rideshare drivers with the following on their driving record will not be eligible to drive a rideshare vehicle if:
- LIFETIME INELIGIBILITY - Any conviction surrounding a fatal accident (vehicular homicide, manslaughter, etc.), using a vehicle in commission of a felony, and/or vehicular assault appears on their driving record.
- Within the last ten (10)-years: Any conviction for reckless or negligent driving, hit and run, leaving accident scene or a DUI of Drugs or Alcohol.
- Within the last five (5)-years: Any conviction or suspension/revocation related to a 4 point offense (contact the vanpool program for questions about the point system).
- Within the last three (3)-years: Any traffic violations, conviction or combination of convictions may be a disqualifier.
- A common question from prospective drivers: Would a speeding infraction on my driving record disqualify me from becoming a vanpool driver?
- If a driver has just one speeding infraction (0-8 mph over the limit) within three-years from the application date, this would not be a disqualifier. If the driver has two speeding infractions within three-years from the application date, this would be a disqualifier. The prospective driver can re-apply three-years from the most recent speeding infraction date.
- A common question from prospective drivers: Would a speeding infraction on my driving record disqualify me from becoming a vanpool driver?
